Coil Vase was designed inspired by the spiral metal forms used in industrial production. A mechanical structural language, normally invisible and relegated to the background, is transformed in this object into a visible, central, and aesthetically expressive element.
The interwoven stainless steel form functions both as a supporting skeleton and the object's main character. Steel, a hard, cold, and technical material, creates a deliberate contrast when juxtaposed with organic flower forms. This contrast reflects FOREIGN377's approach of detaching everyday objects from their usual context.
Coil Vase is not just a vase; it positions itself as a sculptural focal point in the space. With each flower placed inside, the form is reinterpreted, and the object produces a different composition with each use.
This design was created to make visible the tension between nature and industry.
